Instructors are certified with both the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Instruction is both classroom and range/practical based. We use traditional marksmanship fundamentals and both paper targets and steel reactive target systems. First aid and personal protection equipment are available for each training session.
*** If you have yet to purchase a firearm, please contact us for information on individual sessions. We can provide you with practical information for you to make a well informed decision for your firearms and equipment purchases.
Our motto and commitment is to provide each student with fundamental and practical firearms training skills for self defense applications. Safety is always our primary concern.
Our basic training course will cover firearms safety and the correct use of both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols to include firearms and ammunition options and safe home storage. Students will be required to pass a written test and a basic shooting qualification course. Upon completion of the class, the student will receive a NRA certificate which will satisfy the training requirement necessary for a state concealed weapons permit. Equipment requirements: (50 to100) rounds (factory ammunition only) for their own handgun, eye protection and hearing protection.
If the student does not have their own handgun, one can be provided FREE OF CHARGE to complete the training. Ammunition can be purchased at the range from the instructor
Q: How long will it take to complete a training class ?
A: Each basic class is approximately 8 to 10 hours in length, (depending on class size) with the first half of the training in a classroom setting and the second half on a firing range to complete a basic firearms qualification course.
Q: Who is eligible to attend the training?
A: Students must be Citizens of the United States, be at least 18 years of age, have no felony arrest or conviction record, be legally capable of possessing firearms and have no other restrictions pursuant to state or federal regulations prohibiting the possession or use of firearms or ammunition. All students must sign an eligibility confirmation and a liability waiver prior to the start of each class.

Completion of the Basic Pistol Shooting Course will provide each student with a nationally recognized NRA certificate that can be presented to their local law enforcement office to facilitate their application for not only a Virginia concealed carry permit but also a resident or non-resident permit in their own state.
Personal protection in the home is a vital part of our training classes with an emphasis on the safe storage of firearms and providing information on the choices of firearms that are specific to home defense. We will provide you with practical information so that you can make an informed decisions on your next firearms and related equipment purchases.
Refresher/Continued Training Courses are available for large or small groups and can be customized to the skill level and environment specific for the attendees. Contact us for pricing and course outlines.
Site assessments are provided for individual and group security concerns, specifically for Church and business locations. Safety is a multi layered concept. Our training and recommendations will include ideas for proactively addressing emergencies such as medical incidents, disruptive events and responses to acts of violence ,
Annual HR218/LEOSA concealed carry qualification courses are provided to all qualified retired Law Enforcement officers FREE OF CHARGE. The LEOSA Qualification Course conforms to Virginia DCJS standards and meets the HR 218 Federal Statutory requirements. Please email us to schedule a qualification date/time.
A (1) day Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course is available. Minimum of 4 registered students per class. Upon successful completion of the training, each attendee will receive a NRA Range Safety Guide as well as a NRA RSO Certificate of Completion. Please email us to schedule a class.
This 8 hour training course will teach firearms safety and the effective use of both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols via the NRA Basic Pistol Course, The training will also provide information on the correct selection of ammunition, holsters, current self defense firearms and safe home firearms storage options. Students will be required to pass a written test and pass a basic live fire shooting qualification course (3 yard targets). SEE THE BELOW LIST FOR DISCOUNTED RATE OPTIONS
This training course builds upon the shooting skills provided in the Basic Pistol Course but would also enhance the skills of a new/intermediate firearms owner. Each training session will be custom tailored to the needs, equipment and skill level of the specific students; All training will be conducted on the range. Both conventional paper and reactive steel targets are used in each class. (2 hours average time length).
This is a (1) day Range Safety Officer (RSO) training course. The training will be conducted in the classroom, no live fire or on site range training is required. There is a minimum of 4 registered students per class. Upon successful completion of the training, each attendee will receive a NRA Range Safety Guide as well as a NRA RSO Certificate of Completion.
